Having always been involved in farming, we have specialised and bred mainly pedigree sheep for over 17 years, running along side this a very successful Bed and Breakfast business.
Both Hugh and I encountered our first donkeys when we were both children. My Father had two standard donkeys on the farm where I grew up and that is how I learn to ride.
During the 2000 outbreak of ‘Foot and Mouth’ we were unable to show our pedigree sheep, and that is where we first laid eyes on, and like everyone else, fell in love with the charm and quaintness of these wonderful miniature donkeys.
I started to enquire and research into these beautiful donkeys and found there were very few breeders around, but back in the spring of 2004, I was lucky enough to track down and purchase two Jennys both in foal! This was just the beginning now we keep the sheep on a more commercial basis and from there we have grown; having totally fallen for these delightful and loving little friends.
